A New Era in Earlham
The Earlham Community School District has a mission of “Empowering innovative, adaptive and resourceful learners.” To fulfill this mission, our students must have the resources they need to thrive.
Like many rural school districts throughout Iowa, we face challenges that are associated with maintaining older facilities—including one that is nearly a century old. However, unlike many rural districts, we have been fortunate to see our enrollment steadily grow throughout the past 20 years.
When the 2024-25 school year began in August, 674 students were enrolled at Earlham CSD. This is the largest total in our district’s history.

While this growth is a positive thing, it also means we must pursue creative and practical solutions that balance the needs of our students with those of our property taxpayers.
On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, our residents will consider a $10 million general obligation bond that would address many of our facility needs, expand opportunities for our students, and position Earlham CSD to properly accommodate and educate the next generation of Cardinals.
Community Meetings
Earlham CSD will host two community meetings ahead of the November 5 bond referendum. Please make time to attend one of these sessions at the school auditorium to learn more about the district's needs and the proposed solution on the ballot. You will also have opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback.

Both meetings will be held at the school auditorium from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The first event will be Monday, October 7, and the second will be Wednesday, October 23.
